Michelle and Alec’s Dreamy Destination Wedding at Wild Tulum, Mexico

Destination Wedding Bride and Groom

Tulum is known for its white-sand beaches, bohemian vibes, and stunning jungle backdrops—but nothing could have prepared me for the pure magic of Michelle and Alec’s destination wedding at Wild Tulum in the lush Riviera Maya jungle.

From the moment I landed in Cancun International Airport via British Airways, I knew this was going to be a special trip. I checked into the beautiful Bahia Principe Grand Tulum, a resort I’d highly recommend to anyone attending a wedding in the area. With its beachfront access, delicious dining, and tropical gardens, it set the perfect tone for the week. To make things even better—I managed to get a free room upgrade, which added a luxurious touch to the whole experience.

Mexican Jungle Wedding Venue

A Jungle Wedding to Remember 🌿

Michelle and Alec chose Wild Tulum as their wedding venue, and it’s easy to see why. Tucked away in the heart of the jungle, Wild is a breathtaking space that feels intimate, organic, and effortlessly romantic. The ceremony took place under a canopy of towering palm trees and thick green foliage, with sunlight filtering through the leaves—like something out of a dream.

As a destination wedding photographer, I’m always searching for locations that offer both natural beauty and emotional authenticity—Wild Tulum checks every box. The couple exchanged vows surrounded by loved ones, with the lush jungle providing a cinematic, green-hued backdrop that made every photo glow.

Creams, Beiges & Boho Beauty

The wedding theme was earthy, neutral, and timeless. Guests looked incredible in coordinated tones of beige, cream, and soft sand, which complemented the natural surroundings perfectly. Michelle looked radiant in her flowing gown, and Alec was the picture of effortless style.

Every detail, from the floral installations to the hand-crafted tablescapes, captured the relaxed yet refined essence of a Tulum jungle wedding. As a wedding photographer in Mexico, I’m constantly inspired by how couples make their destination wedding uniquely their own—and this one was no exception.

Exploring Tulum: Ruins, Cenotes & Sea Turtles 🐢

In between the wedding festivities, I took a day trip to explore Tulum, and it turned out to be one of the highlights of the trip.

I started the morning with a walk through the iconic Tulum Ruins, perched dramatically on a cliff overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The ancient Mayan architecture and sweeping ocean views are truly breathtaking—perfect for candid adventure photography.

Next, I cooled off in one of Tulum’s famous cenotes—natural freshwater pools surrounded by jungle and limestone caves. The light filtering through the trees and into the clear, turquoise water created a surreal and peaceful vibe.

Then, I swam with sea turtles in Akumal Bay—a bucket list moment! Floating beside these graceful creatures in the warm, clear waters was an unforgettable experience, and made for some incredible underwater and GoPro shots. This part of the Riviera Maya is a dream not only for couples—but also for any destination photographer seeking vibrant, unique content.
